Cups, spoons and grams
Choose the ingredient and the size of your cup. The conversion updates as you type.
How to convert cups and tablespoons to grams
- 1Choose the ingredient: a cup doesn't weigh the same for flour, sugar, oil or milk.
- 2Enter the amount, pick the unit you're converting from and choose the one you want to convert to.
- 3Use a 240 or 250 ml cup, depending on your set of measures.
An example
As a reference, a level cup of all-purpose wheat flour is roughly 120 g when the cup is 240 ml. The value changes with the ingredient and with how you fill the cup.
What to keep in mind
If a recipe already gives grams, go with the scale. Volume-to-weight equivalences are approximate and can vary with brand, grind, moisture and packing.
